Riyadh to host global energy meetings from October 11 to 15

Energy ministers, industry leaders and experts are due to meet in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from October 11 to 15.

The week includes the International Energy Forum’s ministerial meeting and the World Petroleum Congress, which Saudi Arabia is hosting for the first time.

The discussions come amid geopolitical tensions and concerns about the security of oil and gas supplies, including risks around the Strait of Hormuz.

Saudi Arabia’s East-West pipeline can carry oil from the eastern region to the Red Sea port of Yanbu, offering an export route that avoids the strait.

Delegates are also expected to discuss investment, rising electricity demand, clean energy and the use of artificial intelligence and digital technology.

These issues matter because countries need reliable energy supplies and stable markets while meeting growing demand and funding new infrastructure.

The World Petroleum Congress’s official program begins on October 12 and runs through October 15.
