Sifuna appoints communications team as party prepares rebrand
Edwin Sifuna has begun appointing a team as his political movement prepares for the 2027 General Election in Kenya.
The movement plans to rebrand The Equitable Party as Linda Mwananchi Movement, after Sifuna unveiled the new name last week.
Pauline Njoroge was named interim head of communication, and three people were appointed to lead digital and media publicity.
The Registrar of Political Parties has approved changes to party officials and cleared administrative requirements for the rebranding.
Sifuna says the party will seek talks with like-minded opposition groups and intends to field a presidential candidate.
The party says more appointments are planned before its major launch, while Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has asked his party’s elected MPs to stop accompanying Sifuna.
