Brisbane Roar add Europe-trained players in bid to return to the top
Brisbane Roar have signed several new players as they try to return to the top of Australia’s A-League.
The club has not reached the finals since the 2020-21 season, after winning three titles between 2010-11 and 2013-14.
New striker Virgiliu Postolachi, 26, trained at Paris Saint-Germain from the age of 13 and later played in France, Belgium and Romania.
Other new arrivals include former Fulham midfielder Tyrese Francois, defender Joel King and South Korean veteran Nam Tae-hee.
Coach Michael Valkanis says he wants the team to keep the ball more and use that control to create scoring chances.
Postolachi says Brisbane’s ambition to do better this season helped persuade him to join.
