CalibRaw offers a free, open-source alternative to Lightroom
CalibRaw is a free, open-source photo editor for people who want an alternative to Adobe Lightroom.
The editor who tested it had been using Lightroom but began looking for another option because the subscription costs almost $120 a year.
CalibRaw offers familiar tools for adjusting light, color, effects, masks and lenses, along with features such as HDR merging.
It also has presets for applying edits across photos and non-destructive editing, which leaves original images unchanged.
Its AI object-removal processing happens on the user's device, so photos do not need to be uploaded for that feature.
CalibRaw also has a free Android app, though it has fewer features than the desktop version.
