Bonn bridge closure disrupts traffic as damaged span is rebuilt

Bonn’s Nordbrücke carried about 100,000 vehicles across the Rhine each day.

It was closed after inspections found damage that could not be repaired.

Its closure has caused major traffic problems for residents and businesses.

The damaged section is being rebuilt, but the work is expected to take until the end of 2028.
