Ibex rises above 19,000 points as European markets recover

Spain’s main stock index rose above 19,000 points after two days of losses.

European markets also gained as oil prices and government bond yields eased.

The change followed US President Donald Trump’s statement that he would not attack Iran before the US midterm elections, while talks with Iran continue.

Lower oil prices can reduce pressure on inflation, which may help calm financial markets.
