Trump says he had a successful call with Putin

Trump said he spoke by phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday.

He described the call as highly successful but gave no details.

Without more information, it is not clear what the leaders discussed or whether they agreed on anything.

Their conversation may matter because decisions by the US and Russia can affect other countries.
