Brazil’s fuel agency signs data-sharing agreement with 22 states and the federal district
Brazil’s fuel regulator will be able to access electronic tax documents from fuel businesses that agree to share them.
The agreement covers 22 states and the federal district and lasts 10 years.
The agency says the data could help it spot possible fraud, unfair competition and risks of fuel shortages.
The plan is part of a broader effort to track prices and activity across the fuel supply chain.
