Flávio Bolsonaro calls for faster action against election misinformation

Flávio Bolsonaro, a presidential candidate, called for Brazil’s electoral court to act faster against what he says are false claims from Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s campaign.

He spoke at a meeting in São Paulo with Governor Tarcísio de Freitas, Mayor Ricardo Nunes and other local politicians.

That same day, the president of the Superior Electoral Court ordered the suspension of a pro-Lula WhatsApp channel run by federal lawmaker André Janones, following a request from Flávio’s campaign.

Flávio accuses Janones of spreading false information and coordinating attacks against him.

Lula criticized the suspension at a democracy march in São Paulo and said he distrusted the court’s actions.

The dispute comes during the final two weeks of the campaign, as both sides seek support for the second round.

Flávio and his allies urged supporters to challenge opposition messages, bring voters back to the polls and persuade undecided voters.
