Barcelona hosts WEC’s first Spanish race as season’s penultimate round

The World Endurance Championship’s six-hour race in Barcelona is the series’ first visit to Spain.

It is the penultimate round of the season and was added after the Qatar race could not go ahead because of the ongoing Middle East conflict.

The season finale, originally planned as an eight-hour race in Bahrain, was replaced by a six-hour event in Monza.

Cadillac’s Alex Lynn is set to make his 2026 season debut after missing the first six rounds with a neck injury.

Alpine will again use two drivers per car, leaving Antonio Felix da Costa and Fred Makowiecki out of the Barcelona race.

Peugeot has not yet named a replacement for Stoffel Vandoorne, who left the team after the Fuji round.

The season is scheduled to end with the Monza race.
