Gérard Lanvin says replacing Thierry Lhermitte on stage was difficult

Gérard Lanvin took Thierry Lhermitte’s place in a stage comedy while Lhermitte went to Senegal before filming “Les Bronzés.”

Lanvin performed the play once, with Christian Clavier and other members of the troupe.

He said the others did not rehearse with him, so Coluche helped him prepare.

The experience left Lanvin feeling under pressure as he stepped into the role.
