Lawnchair launcher brings a customizable Pixel-style home screen to Android
Lawnchair is a free, open-source app that changes how an Android phone’s home screen looks and works.
After testing more than 20 launchers, a reviewer found it was the closest match to Google’s Pixel Launcher.
The reviewer uses it on a Samsung Galaxy phone and tablet, where its clean design and smooth performance stood out.
Lawnchair also offers controls the Pixel Launcher does not, including options for fonts, app icons, screen layout, dock and accent colors.
Users can also adjust or turn off features such as At a Glance and the search bar.
The appeal is a simple Pixel-like look without giving up as much control over the home screen.
The story does not describe any planned changes or next steps for the app.

After testing over 20 launchers, I found the one that most closely matches the stock Pixel Launcher and makes my handset feel Pixel-like.
Lawnchair is an established, free, open source Android launcher.
I can adjust the number of rows and columns on the home screen, in app folders, and in the app drawer.
I still wish there were a way to force all app icons to follow the theming, as some apps on my home screen, including Google Health, remain stuck with the default system icon design.
