Malaysia plans higher minimum wages in 2027 budget
Malaysia plans to raise its national minimum wage from RM1,700 to RM2,000 a month next year.
The increase is part of the country’s 2027 budget and wider reforms.
The government also plans a RM2,500 monthly wage level for semi-skilled workers and university graduates.
Workers at government-linked investment and company groups would have a monthly wage level of RM3,400.

The budget also includes more than RM80 billion for subsidies and public assistance.
