PDP seeks INEC resolution after candidates omitted from 2027 election lists
Nigeria’s electoral commission, INEC, published its final lists of candidates for the 2027 governorship elections.
The lists for Ogun and Gombe states did not include the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidates, Oladipupo Adebutu and Isa Pantami, or their running mates.
The PDP says it is discussing the omissions with INEC and wants to resolve them under electoral law.
The omissions follow disputes about the candidates’ nominations and whether party rules for membership registers and primaries were followed.
A court had ordered a fresh PDP primary in Gombe, which Pantami won on 29 September.
In Ogun, groups questioned whether Adebutu was on the party membership register submitted to INEC, while the state party said he had completed the required registration.
