Sofia Favero says her priorities are housing, work and public services
Sofia Favero was elected to São Paulo’s state assembly with 407,773 votes, the third-highest total.
She says her priorities are housing, decent work, health care, libraries and public education.
Favero argues that debates over gender-neutral pronouns take attention away from these issues.
Her election also adds to the growing number of transgender people entering elected office.
