Transcript reportedly shows Netanyahu aide urged change to October 7 call record
A transcript reported by Israel’s Channel 12 says Tzachi Braverman, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s chief of staff, urged a stenographer to change a record of a call on October 7, 2023.
The call was between Netanyahu and his then-military secretary, Avi Gil, during the Hamas-led attack on Israel.
Gil says he first contacted Netanyahu at 6:29 a.m.
by WhatsApp, then called him on a secure line at 6:40 a.m.
to report what he knew.
The transcript reportedly shows Braverman asking for the secure-call time to be changed to 6:29, which the stenographer refused, saying it was not allowed.
Braverman’s representative denies that Braverman claimed to have been on a 6:29 call and says Gil left out a call between Gil and Braverman at 6:33 a.m.
Police have completed their investigation and sent the material to prosecutors, who will decide whether to bring charges over the records.
Media reports say an indictment appears unlikely, though police reportedly believe they have enough evidence to charge him.
