Amazon shifts toward lighter packaging and fewer delivery boxes

Amazon is changing how it packs and delivers orders.

It is using less single-use plastic and sending some items in their original packaging instead of adding a box.

This can reduce packaging waste, though many orders still arrive in boxes.

Amazon says the box will continue to be important.
