Meg Whitman led eBay’s growth before serving as US ambassador to Kenya
Meg Whitman became eBay’s chief executive in 1998, when it had 30 employees and $4 million in revenue.
By the time she left in 2008, the company had 15,000 employees and $8 billion in revenue.
She later led Hewlett-Packard, where she split the company into two businesses and oversaw major job cuts.
In 2022, President Joe Biden appointed her US ambassador to Kenya, despite her long record as a Republican.
