Houthis declare Saudi airports targets and urge airlines to cancel flights
Yemen’s Houthi movement has urged airlines, staff and travelers to avoid Saudi airports and airspace.
Its military spokesman, Yahya Saria, said the airports are targets for strikes, except those in Mecca and Medina.
The warning follows an attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.
Saudi Arabia’s civil aviation authority said at least 12 people were killed and 309 injured.
The airport’s operations were suspended after the attack, and two terminals were reported to have been badly damaged.
The Houthis claimed responsibility for an earlier attack on the airport on October 8, the first there since tensions escalated.
Saria said the group would continue its response until its goals are achieved, but no further steps or timeline were given.
