110 arrested after violence during protest in Brussels
Unions were protesting planned cuts to social security.
Later, groups of young people threw objects, set some vehicles and shared bikes on fire, and damaged property.
Police used tear gas and water cannons, and 110 people were arrested.
Police said the youths’ actions were not linked to the union protest or planned education cuts.
The unrest added to tensions as the government prepares to discuss budget cuts.
