Telangana Sanctions ₹14.20 Crore for Manjeera Barrage Repairs

The Manjeera Barrage is a big wall across a river that helps give clean water to people in the city of Hyderabad, in India.

It was built in 1965, so it is more than 60 years old.

Over the years, very big floods have hit the barrage again and again.

The floods damaged a part of the barrage called the apron, which protects it from the force of the water.

Some of the heavy concrete blocks on the apron were pushed away or washed off by the floods.

Experts from the Dam Safety Organisation checked the damage and said it must be fixed quickly.

The Telangana government decided to give ₹14.20 crore to repair the barrage.

The money will pay for fixing the apron so the barrage stays strong and safe.

This is important because the barrage helps supply drinking water to millions of people in Hyderabad.
