Telangana and Maharashtra will meet to discuss a proposed barrage called Tummidihetti.

The Central Water Commission has arranged the meeting in New Delhi.

Telangana wants to use the barrage to bring Godavari water by gravity.

It says this could avoid the high electricity costs of pumping water from other barrages.

Telangana also plans to discuss problems at the Medigadda barrage.

Parts of Medigadda were damaged, and repairs have been difficult since 2023.

The main disagreement is about how tall the new barrage should be.

Officials will also consider how to reduce flooding, or submergence, in Maharashtra.
