Tummidihatti Barrage: Telangana Urged to Send Technical Proposal
Two states in India, Telangana and Maharashtra, are talking about building a big wall in a river called a barrage.
Telangana wants to build the barrage near a place called Tummidihatti, and it would be very tall, about 150 metres.
Before building it, Telangana wants to meet Maharashtra to talk about the plan and how high the barrage should be.
But Maharashtra says Telangana first needs to send proper technical papers that explain the plan in detail.
These papers are called a pre-feasibility report, and they should go to a national water group called the Central Water Commission.
Telangana's leader, A. Revanth Reddy, wrote letters asking for a meeting, but that was not enough.
Maharashtra also felt that some of Reddy's speech on June 1 sounded like a warning, not a friendly request.
The barrage would be very long, about 6.5 kilometres, and would help move water to reservoirs in Telangana.
For now, the talks have not started, and everyone is waiting for the technical papers.

Maharashtra viewed Revanth Reddy's June 1 comments in Kagaznagar as an ultimatum disguised as a 'sincere request', according to sources.
The proposed barrage would be about 6.5 km long and help bring around 80 tmc ft of water from the barrage to Sripada Yellampalli reservoir.
An earlier agreement with Maharashtra for a 148-metre-tall structure was dropped in favour of the KLIS barrages at Medigadda, Sundilla and Annaram.
