Trade unions and farmers hold 'Jail Bharo' protest in Nandyal

On Monday, many workers and farmers came together in a town called Nandyal for a protest named 'Jail Bharo'.

They are unhappy with rules made by the state and central governments, which they say are unfair to workers and farmers.

A big group of people marched from the Municipal Office to Sanjeevanagar Gate and blocked a road.

The police arrested some of the leaders and took them to a police station called Two Town, but they were released later.

The leaders asked the government to cancel the new labour codes and keep the old 44 labour laws that protect workers.

They also want fair minimum wages, equal pay for equal work, and better pay for Anganwadi, ASHA and mid-day meal workers.

For farmers, they asked for good prices for crops, help for families affected by farmer suicides, and 210 days of work each year under the MGNREGS scheme.

They also want cheaper essential goods, petrol and diesel.

The protesters said that if the government does not listen, they will run a big programme called 'Chalo Delhi'.
