Eid-e-Milad Processions: Citizens Forum Sends Legal Notice To BMC, Seeks Equal Civic Arrangements By Aug 25 · freepressjournal.in

A group of Mumbai citizens wants the city government to prepare properly for Eid-e-Milad processions.

The processions are planned for August 26.

The group says there should be clean streets, drinking water, medical help, lights, toilets and traffic controls.

It says the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation had approved Rs 2 crore each year for these arrangements.

The group also says other festivals have received much more civic spending.

It has asked the BMC to announce plans for each ward by August 25.

If the city does not act, the group says it may approach the Bombay High Court.

It also says people may hold peaceful protests.
