Nepal Army Chief Sigdel Begins Week-Long China Visit
Nepal Army chief Ashok Raj Sigdel has gone to China for an official visit.
The visit is scheduled to last from September 13 to September 19.
He was invited by the Chinese government.
Sigdel will attend a major meeting about international security and defence.
The meeting is called the Beijing Xiangshan Forum.
He may also speak at the forum and meet Chinese military officials.
The two sides are expected to discuss future cooperation, including a joint military exercise.
While Sigdel is away, Pradeep Jung KC will lead the Nepal Army as acting chief.
Nepal Army chief Ashok Raj Sigdel left for Beijing on September 13 for a week-long official visit to China.
Sigdel was invited by the Chinese government and is scheduled to remain in China through September 19.
He will attend and is expected to address the 13th Beijing Xiangshan Forum from September 15 to 17.
Sigdel is expected to meet senior Chinese military officials to discuss future military cooperation.
