Wedknott acquires wedding planner Aurezia Events, enters wedding services
Wedknott is a company that helps people find a life partner to marry.
So far, it has helped more than 2,000 families in 75 cities.
Many couples who found partners through Wedknott also asked for help planning their weddings.
Because nearly half of them asked for this help, Wedknott decided to buy a wedding-planning company called Aurezia Events.
When you buy a company, you become its new owner.
This is Wedknott's first move into the wedding services business.
Aurezia Events will keep its own name, and its founder, Peres, will stay on to help lead it.
India has around 10 million weddings every year, a business worth about 130 billion dollars.
The wedding industry there is split among many different vendors who handle venues, decor, photography and hospitality.
Wedknott wants to help couples plan all of those things in one place.
Wedknott has acquired premium wedding planning and design company Aurezia Events for an undisclosed sum.
Wedknott has taken a majority equity stake; Aurezia Events will continue operating under its own brand.
Aurezia founder Peres will remain as Co-Founder and Director as the firm expands into broader weddings and events.
