A dentist in Nashik was looking for someone to marry.

He joined an online matrimonial app and was contacted by a woman using a suspected fake identity.

She allegedly introduced two other people as her relatives.

They told him the marriage was fixed and asked for money for wedding-related expenses.

The doctor sent them a total of ₹11,86,561 in several instalments.

After receiving the money, the three people allegedly stopped answering his calls.

Their phones were switched off.

Police are examining phone records and transactions to find them.
