Bengaluru Metro’s Pink Line Stretch Expected To Open This Month
Bengaluru is getting a new part of its Metro train system.
The first section of the Pink Line may open this month.
Workers are finishing tests and trial runs before passengers can use it.
Minister Krishna Byre Gowda and MP Tejasvi Surya rode the line on Wednesday.
The full Pink Line will run between Kalena Agrahara and Nagawara.
It will have 18 stations.
Some of the line will run underground, while the rest will be elevated.
When this section opens, Bengaluru’s Metro network will be longer than 100 kilometres.
The Jayadeva–Kalena Agrahara stretch of Bengaluru Metro’s Pink Line is expected to open this month.
Testing and trial runs on the stretch are nearing completion, Karnataka minister Krishna Byre Gowda said.
Gowda, Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya and officials travelled on the line on Wednesday.
The opening would take Namma Metro’s operating network beyond 100 kilometres.
The full 21.25-kilometre Pink Line will connect Kalena Agrahara with Nagawara through 18 stations.
