Sawan Jhoola Mela draws lakhs of devotees to Ayodhya

In a city called Ayodhya, there is a big festival called the Sawan Jhoola Mela.

Many people think of it as a very special gathering, like a giant celebration for devotees.

The festival started on Saturday and will last until August 28.

Around ten lakh people, which is a very large number, are visiting the city for this event.

During this festival, there is a special swing ceremony for Ram Lalla, a beloved idol.

For the very first time, the temple trust has allowed regular devotees to swing Ram Lalla.

Earlier, this was probably only done by special people.

For safety reasons, the swing will be moved to a place called Kuber Teela.

There, a ceremony called 'Jhoolan Vihar' will take place.

A man named Acharya Indradev Mishra is in charge of the rituals and is managing the festival.
