Tambaram Railway Police Arrest Two in Diamond Heist Case
A man named Deepak Sanchetti was taking a train from Chennai to Madurai.
He works at a shop that sells diamonds and gold jewellery.
He was carrying a bag full of jewellery worth about 3 crore rupees.
When he woke up in the morning, his bag was gone.
Someone had stolen it while he was in the washroom.
The police found a clue because a smart watch was inside the stolen bag.
The watch helped them figure out where the theft happened.
Police caught two men, one in Siliguri and one in Patna.
The stolen jewels have not been found yet, and police are still looking for two more suspects.
Two members of a North Indian railway theft gang were arrested in connection with a diamond jewellery heist worth around Rs 3 crore on the Ananthapuri Express.
Amarnath Jaiswal, 64, was arrested in Siliguri, West Bengal, while his associate Rajan Kumar was arrested in Patna.
The stolen jewellery has not been recovered; police seized Rs 4 lakh in cash and are searching for two accomplices, Ranjan Kumar and Ashok Kumar.
Investigators tracked the stolen bag using an Apple Smart Watch, which was found lying between Tiruchy and Virudhachalam.
Victim Deepak Sanchetti, a showroom manager from Vepery, was travelling from Chennai to Madurai when the bag was stolen while he was in the washroom.
