Interstate thief arrested in Tirupati over 80 thefts across state
A man in India was arrested by police for stealing many times.
His name is Karaka Rajababu, and he is 47 years old.
Police say he stole things from more than 80 houses, temples and trains.
They found jewellery worth a lot of money when they caught him.
The police had been watching him for many months.
He used trains to travel to different places to steal.
He had a drug problem, and he had been in jail before for stealing.
Now the police have arrested him again.
They are asking people to keep their valuables safe and not keep too much cash at home.
Tirupati district police arrested interstate thief Karaka Rajababu (47) of Anakapalli district, linked to over 80 thefts across the State.
Police recovered jewellery worth about Rs 14.87 lakh, including 64 grams of gold and 3.4 kg of silver.
The accused developed a drug addiction and travelled by train to steal from locked houses and passengers.
His record includes temple donation box thefts, house burglaries and train thefts, for which he had been previously jailed.
The seizure helped clear six cases in Venkatagiri and Dakkili and two in Bapatla; police urged the public to secure homes and use bank lockers.
