Amara Raja Energy & Mobility Profit Rises 16% In Q1
Amara Raja is a company that makes batteries used to power cars, trucks and other machines.
Every three months, it tells people how its business is doing.
In the first three months of its new financial year, the company made a profit of about Rs 190.9 crore.
That is 16 percent more than it made in the same time last year, which is good news.
The money it earned from selling its products also grew by 24 percent.
Most of its money came from selling lead-acid batteries.
The company's new energy business is growing very fast, but it still loses money.
Compared with the previous three months, the profit went down, partly because the earlier quarter included some one-time money.
A pollution control board in Andhra Pradesh also lifted closing orders on some of the company's plants.
Overall, the company earned more than it did a year ago.
Amara Raja Energy & Mobility reported Q1 FY27 consolidated net profit of Rs 190.9 crore, up 16% year-on-year from Rs 164.8 crore.
Revenue from operations rose 24% YoY to Rs 4,215 crore, from Rs 3,401 crore in Q1 FY26.
Sequentially, profit fell 39% from Q4 FY26's Rs 314.3 crore, which included a Rs 181.15 crore net exceptional item.
Lead-acid batteries and allied products segment revenue rose 22% YoY to Rs 4,005 crore, while new energy business revenue jumped 73% to Rs 209.3 crore.
The Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board revoked closure orders for certain company plants for one year, and related writ petitions were disposed of on August 6, 2026.
