Karnataka Extends Gruha Jyothi Survey Deadline to September 30
Karnataka is checking the details of people who receive free electricity through the Gruha Jyothi scheme.
The government has given people one more month to complete this check.
The new deadline is September 30.
The scheme can provide up to 200 free electricity units to a household.
In the areas served by BESCOM, about 68 percent of beneficiaries had been checked by August 31.
Some people living in apartments had not yet cooperated with survey workers.
Workers may visit a locked home up to three times.
People can contact the meter reader or BESCOM helplines to finish the verification.
Karnataka extended the Gruha Jyothi beneficiary verification survey deadline from August 31 to September 30.
The survey began on July 1 for the electricity scheme launched in July 2023.

BESCOM reported 46,70,588 of 68,86,860 beneficiaries had been surveyed by August 31.
