The money is compensation for the families who had to leave their homes.

About 1,600 families benefited from this latest payment.

The government says it has paid Rs 518 crore in compensation so far.

It had already provided Rs 300 crore to more than 2,550 families on June 27.

Naidu said the remaining compensation would be released soon.

The government is also building facilities in seven rehabilitation colonies.

Work is complete in six colonies, but Vemulakota is not finished yet.

Families are gradually moving into houses built in the resettlement colonies.
