Marathwada Urged to Pursue Economic Self-Reliance Through Industry

Ram Bhogale said Marathwada needs more local businesses and industries to become economically stronger.

He explained that farming also needs industries that make fertilisers, seeds, pesticides and food-processing equipment.

These industries help farmers produce enough food for a growing population.

He said people should understand how farming and industry depend on each other.

Bhogale also questioned whether government subsidies actually reach the people who need them.

He criticized people who take subsidies without creating successful businesses.

CASMB plans to hold entrepreneurship programmes every two months for five years.

The goal is to help local people build businesses instead of waiting for outsiders to do it.

Soumya Swaminathan said women farmers, better nutrition, organic farming and adding value to farm products should be important parts of this effort.
