Kumaraswamy Highlights Disability Support Through Mandya CSR Initiatives
H.D. Kumaraswamy said people with disabilities should receive opportunities, not just sympathy.
He said they should be able to live with dignity and self-respect.
In Mandya, 299 people received helpful devices such as tricycles, artificial limbs and hearing aids.
These devices cost a total of Rs 50 lakh.
The support came through programmes run by SAIL and ALIMCO.
Kumaraswamy also opened a digital assessment system at a medical institute.
BHEL paid Rs 1 crore for that facility.
He opened two new school classrooms and began work on two more.
Companies supported the education projects through CSR grants, making total CSR investment in Mandya Rs 2.15 crore.

Assistive devices worth Rs 50 lakh were distributed to 299 beneficiaries in Mandya through SAIL and ALIMCO CSR programmes.

He also inaugurated two classrooms and launched construction of two more classrooms through Rs 32.50 lakh grants from AM/NS India, bringing total CSR investments in Mandya to Rs 2.15 crore.
