Rakesh Gangwal Donates ₹300 Crore to IIT Kanpur
Rakesh Gangwal, who helped start IndiGo, has given ₹300 crore to IIT Kanpur.
He also plans to match donations from other supporters by up to another ₹300 crore.
The money will help IIT Kanpur build its medical education and research programmes.
The institute plans to develop a 500-bed hospital on its campus.
It has also proposed a 200-bed centre for cancer care research.
