Indian envoy meets Bangladesh PM Tarique Rahman, discusses bilateral ties
India and Bangladesh are neighbors that share a border.
A special guest from India, called an envoy, went to Bangladesh to meet its leader.
The envoy's name is Dinesh Trivedi.
He met the Bangladesh Prime Minister, Tarique Rahman.
They talked about being good friends and working together.
The meeting was about helping people in both countries.
The envoy also met the Home Minister to talk about keeping the countries safe.
India wants the two leaders to meet soon.
The envoy said all problems can be solved with good talks.
He did not answer a question about a big summit meeting in New Delhi.
Indian High Commissioner Dinesh Trivedi held his first meeting with Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman in Dhaka, calling it 'fruitful'.
Trivedi also met Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed, with talks covering bilateral ties and security cooperation.
India conveyed its intent to work with Bangladesh in a 'positive, constructive and forward-looking manner'.
Trivedi said India looks forward to a meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Rahman, expressing confidence it would help resolve issues.
Trivedi did not respond when asked whether Rahman would attend the BRICS Summit's outreach session in New Delhi next month.
