Bengaluru Parking To Get Costlier As GBA Proposes New Policy

In the city of Bengaluru, people may soon have to pay money to park their cars on the road.

A group called the Greater Bengaluru Authority, or GBA, has made a new plan for parking.

The plan puts roads into three groups, called A, B and C, and the parking fee depends on which group the road is in.

Some places, like near bus stops, metro stations and traffic signals, will not allow parking at all.

At some chosen spots, people may be allowed to park at night, from 8 pm to 8 am.

If you use a big off-street parking building, you might be able to buy a monthly pass.

Parking your bicycle or an auto-rickshaw at its special stand will still be free.

The plan also says that people who own houses must give their tenants enough parking space.

If they do not, they may have to pay a penalty.

The city wants fewer cars parked carelessly on the roads, and this plan is meant to make parking more organised.
