PMC to Revive Pay and Park Scheme on Laxmi Road

Pune is a big city in India with lots of traffic.

Some of the traffic problems happen because people park their cars, scooters, and auto-rickshaws right on the road where parking is not allowed.

A group called the Pune Municipal Corporation, which is like the city government, has a plan to fix this problem.

The plan is called 'Pay and Park.'

It means drivers must pay a small amount of money to park in special marked parking spots.

The idea is that people will not leave their vehicles on the road if they have to pay.

The plan was first agreed to by the city leaders about eight years ago.

But it got delayed because the state government did not decide on it.

Now the city wants to try again.

City leaders will vote on the plan this week and next week.

If they approve it, the plan will first be tested on Laxmi Road, a busy shopping street in Pune.
