A university in India held a big celebration for a national holiday called Independence Day.

India became a free country a long time ago, and this year the country marked the 80th Independence Day.

The celebration happened at SRM University-AP, which is in the city of Vijayawada.

The leader of the university, called the Vice-Chancellor, hoisted the national flag.

Hoisting the flag means raising the country's flag high up a pole, and everyone watched it go up.

After that, NCC cadets, who are students training to serve the nation, and university security staff walked in a parade.

The Vice-Chancellor gave a speech remembering the brave freedom fighters who helped India become independent.

He also said that young people, teachers, and business leaders will help build India's future and that new technology like quantum computers and artificial intelligence will be very important.

To finish the day, students performed songs, classical dances, a skit, and a yoga-dance performance.

Everyone celebrated together to show their love for their country.
