A big fire started in a tall apartment building in Mumbai, India, late on Tuesday night.

The fire began in two flats on the 11th floor of the building.

Sadly, a little boy named Abir, who was two and a half years old, and a woman named Ankita, who was 23 years old, lost their lives.

Eight other people were hurt, including two firefighters.

The injured people were taken to two different hospitals.

Four of them are in a stable condition, meaning they are doing okay.

Two of the injured people, including one firefighter, were treated and sent home.

Fifteen people who were stuck on the roof were rescued safely by firefighters.

The fire started around 10 pm and was finally put out around 1 am.

No one knows yet what caused the fire, and officials are still investigating.
