Two Dead, Eight Injured in Vile Parle Building Fire
On a Tuesday night in Mumbai, a big fire started in a tall apartment building.
The fire began on the 11th floor of a building called Shanta Bhavan.
Sadly, two people, a little child named Abir and a young woman named Ankita, died.
Eight other people got hurt and needed help.
Firefighters came with eight big fire trucks.
They rescued 15 people who were stuck on the roof of the building.
The fire spread through wires, a sofa, a bed, and other things in one home.
It took firefighters until about 1 am to put out the fire.

Eight fire tenders were deployed and 15 people trapped on the building's terrace were rescued, according to Fire Officer V Bhosale.
The blaze spread through electrical wiring, an AC unit, household articles, a sofa and other items spanning about 4,000 square feet, and was brought under control around 1 am.
The cause of the fire has not yet been ascertained; reports also differ on the exact road name (Baptista Road vs Church Road) and the injury count in headlines (six vs eight).
