Every home needs gas for cooking, and that gas is called LPG.

The government of India has decided how much LPG the country's factories can make.

They made a rule that sets the biggest amount each factory may produce.

This rule covers 21 different factories that make gas.

If all those factories work at their limit, they can make 63,810 tonnes of gas in one day.

That is a whole lot of gas — enough for many, many homes.

It is more than twice the amount of gas made domestically in the last fiscal year.

That amount is also about 70 out of every 100 parts of the gas the whole country uses every day.

So the country plans to produce much more gas at home than it did before.

The government says factories can make at most this much gas every day.
