MGM University Vice-Chancellor Vilas Sapkal Conferred Honorary Colonel Commandant Rank
A very important teacher at a university got a special new title.
The teacher's name is Professor Vilas Sapkal, and he is the head of MGM University.
The National Cadet Corps, a group that trains young students in discipline and patriotism, gave him this honor.

Prof. Dr Vilas Sapkal, Vice-Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi Mission (MGM) University, was conferred the honorary rank of Colonel Commandant by the National Cadet Corps (NCC) under the Union Ministry of Defence.
The ceremony was held on Sunday at the Rukmini Auditorium of MGM University in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
Only three vice-chancellors in Maharashtra have been conferred the honorary rank of colonel commandant this year.
NCC Director General Lieutenant General Virendra Vats and Additional Director General Major General Vivek Tyagi recommended the conferment.
On the occasion, NCC cadet Elsa Mukherjee was felicitated for securing second prize in a national-level cybersecurity competition at Rashtriya Raksha University.
