Yogi Government Approves 20% Reservation, Age Relief for Former Agniveers

The Uttar Pradesh government approved new job benefits for former Agniveers.

Agniveers are people who have completed military service under the Agnipath system.

They can now receive 20 percent horizontal reservation for some Jail Warder and Enforcement Constable jobs.

The reservation will be counted within their existing social category.

Former Agniveers who served for four years will also get a three-year increase in the maximum age limit.

Their four years of service will be considered when their age is calculated.

The government believes their training and discipline can help with prison security.

The decision was made at a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
