India's outward foreign direct investment (FDI) saw a big drop in June 2026.

It fell by 47.9% compared to the same month last year, reaching $3 billion.

This decline was seen in all parts of FDI: equity, debt, and guarantees.

For example, equity commitments went down to $738 million, debt to $469.87 million, and guarantees to $1.78 billion.

Despite this monthly drop, the total FDI for the financial year 2025-26 was $48.6 billion, which is higher than the previous year's $43.7 billion.

Some major investments included ONGC Videsh in Mozambique and Lenskart in Singapore.
