Mumbai ACB Arrests BMC Engineer Over Alleged ₹20,000 Bribe
A municipal engineer in Mumbai has been arrested after an anti-corruption team allegedly caught him taking ₹20,000.
The money was allegedly requested to help obtain permission for drainage repairs at a home kitchen used for a cloud kitchen business.
The complainant said the engineer first asked for ₹1.25 lakh.
She did not want to pay, so she contacted the Anti-Corruption Bureau.
The bureau checked the allegation and later organized a trap.
Officers say they caught the engineer accepting the money at the A-Ward office.
They also say they found ₹7.03 lakh in cash and a mobile phone during a search.
A case has been filed under India’s Prevention of Corruption Act.

The complainant approached the ACB on June 15, and a verification on August 17 confirmed the ₹20,000 demand.
The ACB registered a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act and found ₹7.03 lakh in cash during Jaiswal’s personal search.
