Mumbai ACB Apprehends Two BMC Employees in ₹60,000 Bribery Case
Two workers from Mumbai’s municipal corporation were accused of asking a bakery owner for money.
The owner wanted to keep operating without facing regulatory action.
One worker allegedly asked for ₹70,000 for himself and the other worker.
The amount was later negotiated to ₹60,000.
The bakery owner reported the alleged demand to the Anti-Corruption Bureau.
The bureau arranged a trap operation near the K/West Ward Office.
Officials allegedly caught Vijay Patil accepting the money.
They also detained Niravkumar Jaisur and found cash and mobile phones during searches.
Mumbai’s Anti-Corruption Bureau booked and apprehended two K/West ward employees of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation.
The employees were identified as sub-engineer Niravkumar Jaisur and staffer Vijay Patil.
Patil initially allegedly demanded ₹70,000 from a bakery businessman to help him avoid regulatory action.
After negotiations, Jaisur allegedly demanded ₹60,000 from the complainant.
The ACB caught Patil accepting ₹60,000 and seized cash and mobile phones during searches.
